No Heat on passenger side

My 96 PA has been acting strange lately. When I turn on the heat it blows cold air thru the passenger vents and hot air on the driverside.
I checked the actuator in the glove box and it is moves as I turn up and down the heat temp. I have move the actuator to the right which makes the passenger side produce heat but when I turn off the car if comes back to the middle and sometimes just stays there resulting in cold air.

Please help.

Re: No Heat on passenger side

I assume that the passenger control unit is set on warm or hot also. If it is set cooler, it will still try to cool down on that side, less than the set point on the controller.

Re: No Heat on passenger side

I would say the actuator is worn out, since you said,

"I have move the actuator to the right which makes the passenger side produce heat but when I turn off the car if comes back to the middle and sometimes just stays there resulting in cold air.

How did you move the door? If you were able to move it with the actuator rod hooked up, it is bad!

Also look for vacuum leaks under the hood from the manifold to the resivor, however it sounds more mechanical.
