Thats tough.

Both orginate from the same Era, and both have a repuation for being the very best there is.

If you had picked models from each of thier last generations I would have said neither, they are both equals.
But, it looks like they possible both started to go a little soft?

Rubicon, from the factory it comes with better tires, and it has a super low transfer case, 4:1.

Yes, the Defender has much more taste in looks, and interior is worlds above the Wranglers I'm sure, but in my case I'd rather have the less expensive/more capable off road Jeep. I did see a picture of a new Land Rover, I can't remember if it was the Defender, going over what looked like some kind of concrete drainage trench, it had to have been 3 feet deep and 3 feet wide or so, and the Land Rover was sitting perfectly level with two wheels in that trench, parked at an angle across it, EXTREMELY impressive articulation, I'll see if I can find it.
