Question spark plug wires

i think i might be having spark plug wire problems (very low torque under 2,800) when i hit about 2,800 i get a noticable jump in torque

It's normal not to feel like you are getting ANY torque out of the 420A before about 3k rpm. It's just the way it is.

Change out the spark plugs and wires if you know it hasn't been done in awhile, they arn't that expensive, and will improve your gas mileage a little.

Re: spark plug wires

it's not that there's no torque....there's not much power in general on the low end of the 420a.

i doubt your wires are bad but a tune-up probably wouldn't hurt.

air filter
fuel filter
new plugs
injector cleaner

some of those things can make a car seem like there's a loss of power.

i would have to agree under 2,800 it seems like your have like a 80 hp civic motor not 140 hp, just has really slow acceleration

Sounds like you had a civic motor swapped in and it's the VTEC kicking in
