I have a 97 gt with a 3800 and about 100000 miles on it. My vent is stuck at defrost. How can I fix this? It's getting cold in MI and I would like to warm up my feet. Thanks.

Re: stuck on defrost
hey regalfriend, how ironic that your joke would be impossible, as it's most likely a vacuum line has split and/or came off, and the same vacuum line supplies the cruise as well,

That's funny, I didn't know the cruise control had a vacuum line feed. ![]() But seriously the one to check is the one that runs from the intake manifold and routes in a round about way near the battery into the big wiring harness that eventually goes into the firewall to feed vacuum to the HVAC system controls. I worked on a friend's '98 GT a while back and he didn't know that he smashed the accessories vaccum line after a battery swapout. The battery was sitting on top of it.

Re: stuck on defrost
oops, my bad. I forgot these cars have an electronic cruise module, not the old school vacuum one. I was so busy making a joke, I didn't check my facts first.
