Tranmission problem 97 Concord

I have a 97 Concorde with about 100K miles on it. The car runs like a champ but the Check engine light came on. I ran the ODB reader on it and I get p0700 and p0740 which is a malfunction with the Torque converter clutch circuit. I took it to Aamco and they want to overhaul the tranny, but I have a feeling that it is just a sensor problem, due to the fact that it does not drive differently.

Any input on this?

Also is the Sensor for the TCC on the inside or outside of the Tranny, in otherwords would I have to open up the tranny to replace this sensor?

thanks for any help you can give!!

Take my advice and stay away from Aamco. Their solution to every transmission anomoly is to rebuild. Whether they actually do or not is another story.

Take your car to an independent transmission shop for a second opinion.
