H-Pipe Experts, PLEASE HELP!!!

Here's the deal. I need to know some basic in's and out's of the H pipe before I purchase one. I already know the obvious like more low end hp for H pipe and more high end and overall hp with X pipe. And how the hp difference is only within 5 hp's. So sound is what i'm looking for! I already have a 2 1/2 MAC catback with 3 1/2 tips on a 97GT vert. The sound I want is a ridicullasly loud, deep muscle car but also with a rasspy race note. Kinna like a deep tone version of Steeve Mcqueens Buillit or a deep tone Trans AM (no offence, I hate anything non Stang but I do like the T.A sound) Anyways...

1. They say x has rasspy and H has deepness, My Mac is all deep and barly raspy, can you get a raspy sound with an H pipe?

2. If I do get the H pipe and put it on, will I be able to buy cats later on and weld them on? And if so, will they pass the emmisions with 2 welded cats on them?

3. I have a 97GT vert. Will I have any computer problems o2 sensor or check ingine light? Anything at all to do with the comp?

4. Just how loud or big of a difference is an aftermarket H with cats vs. a straight H pipe?

Please HELP if you know anything about H and X pipe's

I already got MAC 2 1/2 catback with 3 1/2 tips. And I don't want just all raspy like the stingers and an x pipe, I want a very deep sound aswell, which is what my MAC exhaust brings

Re: H-Pipe Experts, PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a 96 GT and took 4 of the 6 factory cats off of the factory H pipe...left the two cats near the back and had new pipe welded in to replace what was taken out by removing the front 4. I have Flowmaster 40's and I love the sound of my car...It has the deep tone and a nice raspy sound when I really get on it and decelerate too...I did go ahead and buy the MIL eliminators and put them on to turn off the Check Engine light that came on after driving about 50 miles. Everything runs fine and sounds great! Hope this helps.

Re: H-Pipe Experts, PLEASE HELP!!!

H pipes give you more of a deep rumble sound and X pipes give you a raspy sound

lol. Yea I know, I'm a senior member on that site. I posted this questions months ago and I ended up going with a MAC o/r H which opened up my MAC catback like a mutthafukka! I believe theirs no such thing as too loud, and this set up still hurts my ears. It just about trippled to sound I had with just my catback and made it much more deep and agressive with a bit of a hollow F-150 type of sound. Sounds like an earthquake at only 2.5K and at full throttle, it sounds armagedon. It's the best classic Muscle car tone i've ever heard. MAC all the way baby!
