I got waxed

By a Tercel

A cold front had rolled through here in the past few days which means lots of rain.
This means that we dont walk the track in PE if it is raining.

Well we started to head for the track and it started to sprinkle so the coaches blew their whistles and told everyone to go back in, but a friend of mine and myself where like "fuck that" and headed towards the track where i had parked my truck because we already had plans of skipping after we got out of the weight room.
Well we get in the truck and im like "dude we have 1 1/2hrs before we have to be back in class incase coach takes roll at the end of the peroid"
and he is like
"lets just drive"
so im like w/e but i need to go retrun this video game to Rhino because it was used and had scratches.
Anyway, we are headed down US90 which is a 3 lane road and i am in the middle lane and then we catch a stop light and there is one car sitting there, i saw it was a tercel and didnt want to get stuck behind some econo freak going 0-45 in 30sec.
so i move into the right hand lane.
It was a Gray Tercel with Gray Accord rims with low pro tires and dark dark reflective tint.
I had a friend that graduated last year that drove a gray tercel and the first time i saw it i was like "nice car" sarcasticly andh e was like "yeah, nice gas mileage"
He then put exaust and intake on it...it was still slow but had plans for it.
But i didnt make the connection as he had tinted it and put the honda rims on it.
I jokinly said "im gonna rev at him and see if he revs back"
and my friend (the one in my truck) is like "i think that is justins car"
im like "with honda rims? he wouldnt do something like that"

he said that he had accord rims on it.

so i rev and the car revs back, im still doubting it is justing but w/e. the thing sounded mean, i mean hella mean. and i senced a fait BOV sound upon him letting off...barely autible over the exaust.

So im still not being serious about this race but i see the turn light go yello and i put it in 1st. the light goes green and i start off normal (didnt rev it up and drop the clutch or anything) and floor it and he revs it up and drops the clutch letting out a nice squeal.
By 2ng gear he is 1-2 car lengths ahead of me and by the top of 2nd he is 2 1/2-3 car lengths ahead of me and im going about 50.

at the next stop light he rolls down his window. sure enough it was justin.
Him: "what the hell are you guys doing out here at 11:30?"

Us: "skipping"

Him: "::laughs::"

Me: "what have you done to that thing since i saw it last"

Him::no responce::

:green light:

Him: "alright see ya later"

Me: "peace"

i then did a ricer flyby for shits and giggles and threw a Y-Sluper out the window on my way by.

Re: I got waxed

I'm not surprised that he beat you at all, even if all he had was i/e. Good run, nevertheless.

Re: I got waxed

hmm yeah it feels good letting people know they got beat by an economy car....but, some tercels are swapped, either/or crazy mods because they're so light (just a sweat lighter than a civic hatch) those can be sweet cars

off topic: what happened to the car profile when you click on another member's profile?? you cant see what car they have in their profile anymore, hmmmm....i dont know about this new board man....

Re: I got waxed

The late model Tercel DX? came with an MPFI DOHC engine. I'm sure they have potential for a few extra ponies if boosted... I thought about getting one stock for gas mileage but I just tuned my crx for better mpg instead...

yeah i've got the same problem w/ girls, too many sarah's and jennifers w/ no last names...

thats interesting, i had a teacher that had a 1.8l jdm engine in his corolla..w/ a 5 speed, or at least thats what he said, he was a hot-rodder in high school, by far one of my cooler teachers

why would you boost a tercel?

thats news to me! i didn't kno it would be worth it at all, most economy cars tend to blow up closer to 7psi, and even w/ a good turbo it wouldn't do much better than 15's w/ 7psi

good call ricer, guess i got owned i'll getu next time tho...just wait...next time

Re: I got waxed

from what i was reading it didn't say anything about how much boost the stock engine could handle, but that fuel was limited to 11psi, which is plenty to go fast enough

Re: I got waxed

haha, i doubt 20PSI.

Rice(er). my truck is slow. stock '90 civic slow. 150bhp + 3600lb (at least) + 30" tires = not the quickest thing on the road. its probably mid-low 16's in the 1/4 mile...
my push rod v6 is geared for torque. not power. even though peak torque (180 something) is in the 4,000RPM range it is flat down to 2,000...
This car was probably mid-low 14's, but lean closer to the mid.
it is Quick...not fast.
but for an econobox it wasnt what i was expecting for sure. and it did sound mean as hell.
