Anyone ever removed the front rotors on a leganza? my lady's 2001 needs new pads and i was gonna take the rotors and have them turned. there is a big nut in the center of the rotor that i think holds the rotor on...any one have any tips they wanna share?

That nut holds the axle to the hub. The only thing you need to pull off to get the rotor to come off is the caliper and caliper mounting bracket, after that, the rotor should practically fall off the car. If it doesn't, persuade it to come off with a rubber mallet

THe center nut is for the axle. There is a small phillips head screw that holds the rotor on during its ride in the assembly line. You may require an impact driver to get it loose. Also sometimes the rust builds up on the inside of the rotor and will not allow the rotor to slide past the hub without giving it a serious beating. In my exp. this is rare though. |
