new to VW Golf

well.... after the incident with my carolla im going to try my best and follow my dream which will lead me to getting a VW Golf.... why a golf i dunno... but why not eh? anyways i dont have much money at all to spend on a brand new golf so i need some suggestions as to what year has the most potential as far as affordability and tuning (exterior interior and under the hood) i picked up a euro tuner mag one time and there was this one golf... it was in the 80's but it had SO much stuff done to it and i kind of want to follow that path because i like the older gold bodystyles a bit better than the newer ones. so im open to suggestions if there are any hard core tuners in here.

Re: new to VW Golf

If you are looking for a golf that you want maximum tunablilty from than I would go with a golf between the years 85 and 89. They have a fuel injection system called CIS-2 that is better tuneable than the later Digifant (digifart).
