96 grand am gt lug nut studs

I have a 96 grand am gt. The other day I felt my tire vibrating and and took my tire off to find out that the lug nut stud had broke in half. Now i was able to get the rest of the old stud out but I cant get the new one on. How do I take the plate that the studs are on off so I can put the new stud on. There is not enough clearance right now to put the new one on. Sry if it is confusing Ill try to help by answering any questions u guys have for me. thank you

Front or rear???

I believe that you don't need to remove the hub in order to replace a stud... There should be a spot where you can just barely squeeze that thing in there.

I've done Corsicas and berettas and have not had to remove the hub... Same setup as the GAGT.

Good Luck.

Gotta have the car in Neutral, then you can spin it around to find the spot... make sure you block the rear tires doing this.
