long warm up period after t stat change

91 Protege 4 cyl, changed the thermostat and now she takes a longer time to warm up than before?

Is it possible I installed the wrong tempature t-stat?

A t-stat of a lower temp rating could cause this symptom, allowing the heated coolant to be released to the radiator at a lower temp.
