Knocking sound in 1st and 2nd gear

hi got this problem arise this morning when i drove off to work. went to pull off in 1st released the clutch and heard a clunking sound, got into 2nd same again, 3rd upwards no problem. it's 98 golf GT TDI mk4, if anyone has any ideas would great to hear them cheers

hi it is possible it could be an engine mounting at the rear of the engine
i have a mk2 it was doing the same thing so i changed the rear engine mount
now all is ok. good look
