Remote Starter Recommendations

Looking for brand/model recommendations for a one way remote starter for my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 4X4. It has factory power locks/windows, factory alarm, PassLock, auto trans, V8, etc. Not looking for anything exotic, just want to be able to start my truck from the house on cold snowy winter days.

Would like suggestions for brand that installs with the minimum of wire splicing, preferably almost all connections should be made with supplied or optional wire harnesses.

Any other advice or experiences readers can share will also be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

I just installed the CodeAlarm CA-630 in my 1998 Z71.
Has a lot of features plus the remote start.

You will need the bypass unit also to be able to remote start it.

Re: Remote Starter Recommendations

Hello, I sell and install remote starter systems, I would recommend the Compustar remote start systems. the one way model is model CST-1wams and has 2000 foot range, with keyless entry, alarm control, also can upgrade to the 2 way systems quite easy.

Your truck will also require a passlock bypass module. I recommend the Autostart model GMT-100. This bypass will alow easy problem free OEM security bypass. I find these the best. door locks will require and inverter module or relays to control voltage differences. I hope this helps.
