95 cherokee keyless entry, security shut off

i've got a 95, and just the other day i went into the store and my car wouldn't start. i figured it was the battery so i jumped. but then the security was flashing along with the head lights, and would not start. it didnt sound like the battery, it sounds like a securty system. i lost my keyless entry, i thought that might be it. please help

try using the key in the rear hatch and turn it to the right it should work

If the battery is bad or loose and causing a intermitant dead bat simptom, the alarm will activate. ussually resetting it as freak91 said will fix the alarm. but you could still have a defective battery. mine did the same thing a couple of times and replacing bat fixed it.
