Any different from an olds 88?
Hello. I just bought a 1989 Buick Park Avenue with 180k for $525. It seems to be in fair condition but it needs a few little things.
I was just wondering if a PA is much different from an olds 88 H-body? They seem to be almost identical other than cosmetic changes. Also, are there any problems I need to watch out for? Just curious -Eric

the same, they are. usually the only difference is weither it uses a MAF or MAP sensor for air flow metering. |

Re: Re: Any different from an olds 88?
I believe it has an MAP in it. Anyway, so far i've discovered that the air compressor for the air shocks (right?) keeps running when the engine is off and it ran my battery down.
From the olds 98 forums (had similar setup) this is apparently a common problem. Anyway, I'll fix it. Thanks for the info -Eric

Re: Any different from an olds 88?
Usually a leaky shock bladder or sensing arm (assembly) on the right rear lower control arm.
Some have made switches to manually control the compresser. |
