Angry E-brake Cables

I have a 92 golf gl that had rear drum brakes. I put rear disc off of an 86 GTI onto my car. And i can not get e-brake cables to fit for the life of me. Im getting so frustrated over it, please help!!!!!!

Are you using the break cables from the 92 or the 96?

Using the cables from the 86.
