A1 Cardone Shut down!

Hi everyone!

Got some BAD news today at work. I work at AutoZone and was notified that A1 Cardone and it's subsideraries are closed as of Saturday night! This was a MAJOR remanufacturing company that did parts from window motors, smog pumps, wiper motors, ECM's, A/C compressors, CV axles, etc. This is a huge blow to the buying public as parts resellers ARE NOT GOING to be able to get good quality reman parts for awhile. Just wanted to let everyone know............

Mark

Re: A1 Cardone Shut down!

Ouch! My wallet just kicked me. With them out of the market the cost of parts will certainly go up especially reman's. I guess we should be thankful for places like gmpartsdirect or rockauto since they are far more reasonable than the dealers when it comes to OEM parts. Hopefully someone will step in and pick up the slack.

hey thats ok, i didn't like the zone stuff anyway, their electronic "alt, starts" were always failing. I go to napa or dealer anyways for the quality

Their redone MAF sensors sold at Autozone were terrible. It's sad when you have to go through 2 or more to find a good one. Other companies will probably fill the void anyways.

Re: A1 Cardone Shut down!

A-1 cardone did a pretty decent job on the brake calipers and master cylinders, CV axles and brake boosters, but their electronics (MAF sensors, distributors, abs modules, etc...) weren't that great. I'm sure someone will either buy them or pick up the slack.
