Has anyone modified a 99 escort se 4 door? I need help on what work and what doesn't. engine, body, anything.

basicly w/ an SPI its either an N/A build or turbo,

You can use Nitrus on the SPI also.
And yeah there's body kit's and what not for it.

right now everything is still stock. i'll be working from the bottom up. any suggestions for starting the project.

start with basics: header, exasut, intake, ported head, cams, ported intake mani, pullies, chip sct.
