96 monte carlo z34 staring problem

I just got a 96 monte carlo and when I go to start it up it doesn't seem like it wants to start without giving it a little gas. Otherwise it runs like a champ. I though it might be the fuel pump or fuel injectors or possible some sort of fuel pressure sensor or something. If anyone could help out, it would be much appreciated.
