GST/GSX Traction Question

Hi guys. So after I got the money from the GSX that crankwalked on me I am in search of a Turbo DSM once again. I found a 1999 GSX in mint condition , virtually in perfect condition and low miles, but it was an auto. I hate automatics and I dont wanna buy a auto. GSX are so god damn rare and it will probably take another 3-4 months for a couple more to appear but I dont have time. I need a car soon so i saw that there are a lot of GST selling around here. The GSX had awesome traction so what about the GST. Since its FWD? I always burned rubber when i tried to get fast traction with my old RS. So thinking now that a GST will have even more power I am assuming I will have traction problems once the horsepower starts to raise. Also what worries me is that since its FWD, I dont have any control of the rear wheels and its easy to spin out of control. So do you guys think I should buy a GST or wait a couple of months for a GSX ?

Thanks

Just because it's auto doesn't mean it's necessarily bad. I mean while I prefer manuals to automatics automatics are only slightly slower than manuals, and if you are going to do serious work to your dsm than an auto might be the way to go. You'll never miss a shift. haha. But if your set on the manual then I would tought it out. I wish so bad I had waited for a GSX.

Re: GST/GSX Traction Question

I'd agree, you'll be kicking you self for a long time if you settle for less than what you want. Wait for it and get the GSX.

haha I know. But yeah I guess I would go for the gsx. I just couldnt pass up the deal on my car but I would probably prefer awd even if it doesnt really rain here. Have fun with that drivetrain loss

Re: GST/GSX Traction Question

Every winter I just can't wait until it snows! Drifting around a corner with AWD and using the trottle to control it is better than sex. Plus when you finally decide to sell (although I know for sure that I'll never part with mine) You'll have people lined up at your door. If you can't find a GSX, consider a Talon Tsi. Mine didn't take long to get looking like an Eclipse and a lot cheaper. There sure are lots of them up here in Canada.

If I was ever lucky enough to get a 2g I would for sure convert it into a talon if it wasnt one already. It just sucks cus I cant find anything here for less than 6k, so yeah the resale is always a plus.

actually there isn't enough drivetrain loss there to accommodate much for any real important speed numbers. maybe a few 5 mph after say 140, but other than that they're pretty much identical.
