BMW 328 Touring AC Schnitzer Project

Hello guys!! Itīs been awhile since my last car modeling build. This time I decide to do a model of my own car. I choose the Revell kit BMW Alpina B6 and some varius parts from Dragons BMW M3 Limited kit.

The Revell BMW has an engine witch is good to replicate the M52 engine by some minor scratch builds.

Things I had to do from scratch is the 17" Ac Schnitzer Type II rims, the rear AcS silencer, the rear roof wing, Most of the rear windows, new dashboard (airbag SRS in the newer E36) and front sport seats witch differ a bit from the M3 ones.

Well enough talking, hereīs the pics:

And a sideshot of my car I intend to replicate.

I like it! I soooo like it!

Lets see- M3 side skirts, front spoiler, mirrors(!) and color. Yet it's a 2.8 M52 instead of a 3.2 S52?

Yes, This car has a full M3 option package including black inner roof, all exept the engine. Its an 2.8 M52 with Ac Schnitzer camshafts tough. There is no Factory M3 Touring but Iīve seen a couple converted ones.

UAUUUUUU!!!!
Hey Schnitzermann, when i saw your post i almost fell of my chair!
I`ve been around this forum for a while, but never posted anything before.I usually post my works at a Portuguese forum called Automodelista.org, check it out!
But anyway, i owned a 328i Touring too, with full M3 option package like yours. One of my favourite cars so far, and the most beautiful to me!!
In Portugal only 3 of these were sold ond only mine had the M3 package!
I always wanted to build a replica, but never could find a 1/24 body of a Touring model.Did you start of with the "normal" 4 door body of the Revell kit BMW Alpina B6??And altered the rear end??If so, do you have photos of how you didi it??
Would you mind if i followed your footsteps and build a replica of mine??

Sorry for all the questions..

Here is a photo of mine.

Keep up the good work!

Nice 328 Touring!! Stearlingsilver right?

I do not mind if you build along. Could be interesting. Itīs odd that Revell didnīt came up with a model of a Touring bimmer allready.

Iīm glad you guys like it! I put alot effort into this model so I appreciate all coments on the way.

I do not have any pics on the model before the first coat of primer (my camera was at service by then). I use the Revell kit as base for the model and simply cut the roof at the centre of rear doors and measure the allready cut off roof from the Dragon kit (BMW M Coupé). Added some plasticard to build up left of the rear section and fill tailights with plasticard. Smaller ones on a Touring. And then fill with filler, sand down, fill again, sand down etc. When you are satisfied with your result itīs time for the panel lines. Most of the parts of the Revell kit has to be reshaped or replaced due inaccuracy. No big deal anyway. I have the full scale to take measurements from.

Now I had to build up some Ac Schnitzer rims to deal in the chassi.

Nice project! I've had the honour to testdrive a 330coupe (1999) and I have to say beamers are great cars. Good luck.

Wheel construction. Every rim has 17 parts. I use a five spoke rim as base for this AcS rim model. Next is to apply the first coat of primer to pinpoint any misses or missmarks followed by a typical rimsilver paint.

Nice wheel modification !
I didn't know a model with touring body of the E36 existed.
