1992 Caravan, 2.5 Liter no spark

I have a buddy with a no spark condition on a 1992 Caravan, 2.5 liter engine. The Caravan stopped while driving down the road. He replace the ignition coil, that didn't help. He recently replaced the transmission and I'm a little suspicious that the Crankshaft Position sensor may be damaged or out of position. Can anyone tell me how to test the crank sensor? Can anyone tell me how to test the Camshaft Position sensor?
Will a missing Crank or Cam sensor signal also prevent fuel pump operation?
