O/D blink and CHECK ENGINE ON

Hello,
Back again. I just had the transmission overhauled, and when i tool the car from the shop, after few miles, the o/d started to flash it didn't upshift for the 4'th. Then i stopped the car and started again. It worked fine, and shifted ok. After few miles again, CHECK ENGINE WAS ON, but without the O/D flash. Any ideeas? I also put new oil and filter. Planning to do a scan today. Any info is welcome. THX

Hi again. I did a scan with Autoxray tool and got code P0759 and P0761, meaning "Shift solenoid B (and C) Performance or Stuck off". I suppose is the 2nd and 3rd gear solenoid because it has a rough shift in 2nd and 4th. Shift solenoids are sold separately? Thx

If you just had it overhauled get it back to that shop and have them fiinish the job right. Sounds like they did not get it right when they put it back together - it is very unlikely both of those solenoids failed at the same time. Pretty good chance there is another problem causing these codes or at least partially responsible for the codes like a bad valve body gasket.

Shift solenoids are sold separately, but you have to do some disassembly of the valve body, etc. to put them in.

Yeah, thanks. The car is back to the shop. They say it is quite possible that there were some metal particles left in the torque converter (as my previous transmission had failed) and theese may cause the solenoid to get stuck. I don't know if it's true but i doubt it. I think you may be right with the gasket. I'll be back with new info.

my o/d light started flashing so i took my to a shop and they said Shift solenoid B stuck. so they ordered the part and said they put it in.and it is still having the same problem they said the tranny is shot. do you think that is the case or are they just trying to make money.

Yeah. I don't know what to say, but if it's the same problem, i suppose it's not because the solenoid.
Anyway, after they cleaned the valve body again, i had no longer P0756 code. But after runing continuously about 150 miles, the transmission started to shift erraticly. After it cooled down (next day) it worked fine. Some books say Dextron III is compatible with my trans, and some others say i should use Dextron II. What do you think? Is it possible that Dextron III being too "thin" may cause the oil to overheat and may result in erratic shift? THX
