93 accord - speaker and timing belt questions
I have a 93 accord.
1 speaker never has any sound coming from it (rear left, maybe) another works some times (front left, maybe) is this common with these cars? and if so, what is the cause? if it's just crappy speakers, I'll go buy new speakers. if it's wiring, I'd like to know before I dive into it. ALSO: I'm at 158k miles. 13 yrs old. probably a good idea to change the timing belt, ect. When changing the timing belt, what are some other items that should be changed at the same time?? the kit's I've seen include TIMING BELT - BALANCE SHAFT BELT - TIMING BELT TENSTIONER - BALANCE SHAFT BELT TENSIONER - CAM SEAL - CRANK SEAL - OIL PUMP SEAL - BALANCE SHAFT SEAL - VALVE COVER GASET SET - WATER PUMP for around $145 to my door. is there anything else I should consider doing?? Is this price reasonable? Thanks! |

Price sounds good to me for all that stuff....

(And, BTW - I agree - that kit, for the price, looks fine.) |

The older honda speakers are not the greatest. They tend to have paper cones. I've done sound upgrades to most of the cars that I've owned. I recommend getting new speakers. Try www.crutchfield.com. Some of their stuff is pricey but its of high quality and will have a much purer sound. And I dont know how old your in dash stereo is, but if it's factory, you may just want to update that at the same time. |
