Angry best budget motor swap?

Hey everybody, ive own my share of cars, and i just bought a 93 red, 5spd, del sol, its a d15 i beleive, now i dont have all that much money, but i want to do a motor swap, i cant afford a b16, because the whole swap plus extras to do it right is around 2K, and i only have about 1k to spend on a swap....what do u guys think i should go with, and how fast do u think it will be? thanx for the info, peaCe

I would grab a D16 head and mate it to the D15 bottom end. Gives you VTEC, and with some eventual work and boost, you can get a decent amount of power. A friend of mine has a boosted D16 that's putting out about 330whp.

Hell if I know. I know he built/reinforced the crap out of it, and he's got a custom turbo kit on it, pushing 22lbs of boost. It is the ONLY SOHC that I will bow down and say it owns me to. But not for long.
