1994 Chev C1500 6.5L Turbo

Hi everyone. I've got a 1994 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6.5L Tubo Diesel in it. In June I had a new engine installed because at 380,000 kms both cylinder heads cracked on the original motor pumping a few litres of antifreese into the crankcase and some more out the exhaust. The engine and bearings were destroyed from the coolant.

Anyway, I installed a new rebuilt engine from a local reputable engine rebuilding shop, and ever since it was installed, there has been a ticking when the engine is running. It sounds very much like there is a lifter ticking or maybe even an injector, but both my mechanic and the rebuilder cannot locate the source of the ticking.

I had new injectors installed with the new engine, and the injectors do not appear to be the source of the noise says the diesel shop and my mechanic. My mechanic cannot seem to locate the souce of the ticking -- he checked the lifters and they are all adjusted properly to spec.

Any thoughts?
