I have a 1999 Escort that the shifter lamp has gone out. Does anyone know how to replace it?
Thanks for your help. |

I have a manual but I think there are phillips screws holding down the plastic housing. Remove them and raise the plastic up and you should see the bulb. Probably a #194 available anywhere. A lot of times they just get loose.

You are correct. I apologize, I should have been more precise. |

Re: Shifter lamp
Just bought a 98 ZX2 and the shifter light was burned out. Took me about an hour to replace it. Mostly to figure out how to get the center console taken apart. Not really a big deal once you figure out where all the screws are.
AND...the bonus for me, we found $2.67 in change down in the console and around the emergency brake. Enough to pay for the replacement bulb! |
