fuel pump question

I have an 87 trans am with the 305 4bbl, It has a mec fuel pump but when I shut the car off I could swear I hear a electric pump running in the tank . did this car have 2 pumps

pretty sure theres only one fuel pump... when you turnyour car to accessory you should hear the fuel pump pressurize. (keep the door open when you turn the key to hear it) is that the sound your hearing when the car is off?

including lots of miles and stock heads and internals....oops)
crane cam cam specs
performance valve springs and retainers, flowtech headers, 255 lph fuel pump,
holley 600cfm carb, weiand single plane manifold, a healty diet.
14.90 1/4 mile....just wait for the 406 to be finished

I dont hear it when I turn the key, its only when I shut the car off. but yea It sounds exactly like a fuel pump pressurizing....

ummm usually the car dosnt start enless it pressurized...does it start and run? lol

My friends truck does that, it sounds like that right after you shut it off, it does it for like two seconds. It is something under the hood shuting off after you turn your car off.
