Whant to cut out....

All the smog crap on my 84 civic wagon. I have a 84 with over 200k. But I just torn down a wrecked 86 with a 1.5 and have that motor on a stand. I realy would like to remove ALL the smog and replace it with either a (2) barrel webber or some other type carb. I dont mind puttin on an after market intake if thats what it takes. I don`t know where th start looking for anything that may be out there. Also I can fabricate just about anything.

honestly if it has 200k on it, leave it alone.......you may end up w/ more problems than you can imagine if you start f**king w/ things

what are you planning on doing with it after you make it no longer street registerable?
what are the smog laws in your state?
i could think of thousands of other ways you could waste money that would be more fun.

Re: Whant to cut out....

Well I found a 86 wrecked but only had 59k on the motor. I stripped the car and replaced everything in to mine. The other motor is on the stand in my shop.Smog lawa are pretty liberial here. I will retain the cat but want to get rid of the (or most) vacume lines under the hood. The origanal motor is still in the car. I had 2 year old gas in it when I went to smog it 3 weeks ago, with a gutted cat and it still past emissions. Anyway bottom line is if I can get a little more power out of the 1.5 with a different carb less all the smog vacumes thats what I want.

Well, more power the better even if it's old... Check out this website.

http://www.redlineweber.com/

These guys sell webber kits and here is the webpage for your application.

http://www.redlineweber.com/html/app...uide/HONDA.htm

I think the kit they are providing is a single carb kit using existing manifold. I am sure you can find dual setup, including the manifold if you search enough over the web.

As far as keeping the vacuum lines, I say just keep the one from the PCV valve to the carb. Have fun.

Re: Whant to cut out....

Thats what I`m looking for..........Thanks hxgaser. I will use that and be real happy. Even with a stock intake I may get a few more horses. But all the routed hoses will be gone. YES it is that simple. Thanks again.
