'91 Mileage

Ok, '91 Escort. The mileage indicator on these cars are 6-digit? 5 'mile' digits and one white-colored digit? Ok, the mileage on our '91 Escort says "72,568" and the white digit is between 2 and 3. This dosent seem right. Most other vehicles I've seen have a 7-digit mileage indicator, allowing the 100-thosands. Is it possible for these 6 digit indicators to 'roll-over' to 100 thousand?

We are the 2nd owners of this vehicle

Thanks

Yes it is very possible, Ford for some reason has a lot of cars like this. It will just go back to zeros when you roll over 100,000. The white digit is tenth's of a mile.

Back in the old days a car didn't make it to 100,000 so this was fine. I think most cars go to 999,999 now. I've seen Big trucks that go to 9,999,999. (Wishful thinking!)
