light weight windows

I was checking out the really sweet windows @ http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/flexite-flat.html and it states it will fit '99-'01, but i was wondering if they would fit on my 2002. Any help from you guys would be great. Speed safely everyone!

Re: Re: light weight windows

" You must fabricate mounting clips for screwing or riveting windows in place, drill windows and mechanically fasten. For race use only. Not legal for street use."

this is for people that NEVER want to put a window down and have an alternative way out of the car then the door.

Re: light weight windows

lose 15lbs? you need to lose about 100lbs to lose 1/10th so you will gain about 1/7th of 1/10th of a second and not be able to use your door. lol

All the weight reductions add up, and they are the stationary windows, the front windshield and the two front side remain oem.

Re: light weight windows

just a side note but it's not just loosing weight, but also where you loose weight, so if you take it off of the top of the car you will lower the center of gravity, aka get less body roll, (but 15 lbs is minimal, i'd start going to the gym before buying windows)

Re: light weight windows

very true, especally the lightweight wheels, reducing unsprung weight makes a huge difference, and the lightweight flywheel, not only do these parts make you loose weight, but they also benifit the car in otherwas, make it rev better, ot the suspension respond faster, lightweight wheels can increase your acceleration tighten your handling and shorten your stopping distances because you are removing rotational weight,

Re: light weight windows

well i have to say that you are modding your car with more smarts than allot of people in my area who just go for the biggest wheels they can find without realizing that they weigh double what the stock whels do, if you are still concerned with weight you can go with carbon fiber fenders and hood, and if your like me you would get them painted to look stock or close to, also to further reduce unsprung weight if you get a high quality set of aftremarket brakes you can get larger and lighter, and you will improve the durability stop faster and they look better in aftermarket wheels, and what all have you done to your car thus far?

Re: light weight windows

Let us know when you do the fly wheel. i would like to know if it's worth the effort, and how much work is involved.

Just curious how much a response you noticed from the UDP on your Zetec? Did it increase driveability/any real noticeable gain in power? Was it worth the money? I'm looking into getting one, and haven't made a decision yet...
