The body shop can't match my pearl white?!!
I took my car into Maximum Auto Body shop here in maryland to get my door and back bumper fixed and repainted. They've had my car for over 3 weeks. They're telling me they can't match my pearl white color on my car. They said they've painted the car 3 times and it wont match up. So now they're saying this is the best possible match they can do. They said the only way to get that color is if the dealer paints it. Does this sound right to you guys? Shouldn't any body shop be able to match any kind of paint? What am i entitled to here? Do I have to pay them? What can I do and what options do I have. I have a 1997 gle maxima and i saw the can that the paint they were using was labeled 1995 nissan maxima. Does that make a difference?

paint match
I recently got into an accident, couple of scrapes here and there.
I took it to the dealer because I was so paranoid that another body shop would do a terrible job, even though my car is a Super Black 2001 Max. Haven't go it back yet, So I'll let you know how it turns out. |

I looked at my car da other day. They did a horrible job. They got overspray everwhere. My windows, my vinyl black trimmings and my whole entire exhaust. I really wouldnt want them to repaint my whole car. They said they'll fix everything and clean it up and make things right. im ready to file a complaint.

they couldnt match ur paint???? it should be very easy to do if its still the original paint and they get the paint code off the car. i know how to mix paint and get formulas and theres 2 main ways to do it. either get the paint code off the car, or theres this camera u can use which takes a pic of the paint and gives u a formula for a direct match. They have to be messing up somewhere, either in the mixing or they are getting the wrong formula...there is no such thing as a "dealer only" paint as far as i know of besides that ford color which shifts from purple to blue to red to whatever....
