1999 Sable Instrument Bulb Replacement

I have a 1999 Mercury Sable and want to change an instrument bulb that is burnt out. Does anyone know how to access the bulb socket in the instrument panel. I can not get the dash cover off of the front of it.

Re: 1999 Sable Instrument Bulb Replacement

Remove the 2 screws under the instrument cluster bezuls upper surface. They are located under the upper lip and screw up. On some years they have torx heads and some phillips heads. Tilt the steering wheel down and pull it out. It is held in place by snaps. Then remove 4 torx screws holding the instrument cluster in place. Pull it out far enough to remove the wiring connectors from the rear. Replace the bulb and reinstall in the revers order of removal.
