Caravan transmission

How many people have had problems after tranny fluid replacement at Jiffy Lube?

I never have a problem because I don't let the idiots at Jiffy Lube touch my transmission. Most of them think all transmission fluid is red. The Chrysler automatics require a specific fluid and the minimum wage wrench jockeys at Jiffy Lube don't know the difference.

Transmission fluid changes as well as filter changes and band adjustments are best left to transmission specialists. Don't waste your money on this at Jiffy Lube.

Re: Caravan transmission

I will not let them touch my tranny fluid, they do not have the specific type of Chrysler tanny fluid to put in.

Re: Caravan transmission

Put it this way, who doesn't have problems after JL services their Transmission. From what I have seen, they put the same fluid in all automatics. Unfortunately for those of us that require Mopar ATF +4, putting JL generic bulk barrel fluid in our transmission spells "time for a new transmission". Non ATF+ fluid usually causes clutch detertioration and then the fragments plug everything up and then the transmission is a total loss. Total failure usually comes within a few miles to 10,000 miles.
