Re: High flow cat ?

it really shouldn't matter a whole lot, just go w/ the Magnaflow because that's a trustworthy name.....personally i would get the cheaper of the two......

Re: High flow cat ?

I have this one. I like the sound of it. I'm not sure if I gained anything with it, but the sound of it along with my muffler sounds hella nice.

Re: High flow cat ?

you could ditch the cat entirely...but if its a fairly new OBD2 Cavvy, you'll have to get a resistor clip for your secondary 02 sensor....but if you have smog tests, not a good idea....

Or how about if you live in most places in the the US it's not a good idea because it's illegal?

Performace difference between a high flow cat and no cat likely would not be noticable. There isn't much price difference between a high flow and more conventional, so just go with a high flow and be done with it.

Re: High flow cat ?

i live in WI and there are no test ever couple of years to make sure ur not polution to much or what ever.. most of the cars/trucks are running no cats.. i just want a cat so no internal parts take a shit on me..ie rings.. due to a lack of back pressure.. thats how i blow up the motor in my old truck..

Re: High flow cat ?

whatever people told you about backpressure is such a load of shit....i hate when people say that if you take of the cat or get straight pipes that you're going to burn the rings out or wreck the exhaust valves......think of how and engine works and then think about how the muffler/cat works and its not even possible to wreck the rings or valves!!

Just get another cat and be done w/ it!

Re: High flow cat ?

you blew up the motor in your truck because of some other problem...the cat didn't do anything to wreck the engine. If you knew anything about engines, you'd see how it isn't possible for the cat to do that much damage to anything internal. The only way it could is if the cat was completely sealed and didn't let the exhaust escape.

I've built different exhaust systems for people and none of them have had any problems....i built an exhaust system on my Civic and never had any troubles. I had a 4-2-1 header, no cat just a test pipe, and a 2.5 straight pipe.....i had no problems at all.....
