It's true that the parts stores don't carry all the hoses. You need to find out what the shape is so that you can identify it on the picture at the store. On my '97 3.0 Vulcan, maybe different from yours, I think the hose coming out of the bottom of the radiator and going to the pump (what you're asking about, right?) is a Y-shaped hose because I think it also goes to the plastic recovery tank. Something like this might not be carried by a parts store because it's unusual. The parts stores seem to mostly carry the straight-ish hoses.
Here's something I CAN tell you relating to your pump, though (in case this happens to you): I took my time getting around to servicing my cooling system for the first time (~100k miles). As a result, when I pulled the (firewall side) hose on the pump, the corroded metal neck came out in pieces. Instead of buying a new pump, I was able to find a copper metal neck that I hammered in (after tapering the end enough to get it in there). It's been leak-free for two years now - although it's only a matter of time before the pump needs to be replaced...
