Question about balance

I have a 2005 Honda Accord EX-V6 and it's had a vibration when cold since I got it. Turns out the tires that were on it had a cold period where they would do that. Anyways, I hated the tires, so I replaced them with some new ones from a tire place, not the dealership. There is still a vibration. I think it's a different vibration from before. I took it back to the dealership and had them check the vibration while it was there for an oil change. They got three of the tires to balance, and the fourth didn't. They think the tire is bad. I have to bring it back to the tire place Monday and tell them what the dealership found out, and see what they found out. I have a feeling I'm just going to get screwed around with them. The dealership has been good to me. The guy told me to have the tire place call him if they had any questions. I guess my question is what do I do if they tell me it balanced fine?? There is definitely a vibration, the guy at the dealership felt it this time (he didn't before I put the new tires on) he said he felt it in the seat, not the steering wheel. It is the left rear they couldn't balance. I definitely feel it in the steering wheel when it is cold, but in the seat too. The passenger can feel it sometimes also. What could the cold vibration be? Just the tires warming up? The suspension on the car? Any ideas? Anything would be helpful at this point. The car only has 6,800 miles on it. Thanks for your time!!

Re: Question about balance

I had a similar experience when I first bought my truck. since it was one of those Certified vehicles, I had a copy of the report that the drivability aspects all checked out. Yet during freeways speed, the vehicle front end bounced up and down even with the new shocks. I suggested the possibility that the tires may be out of round and/or cupped. Finally they agreed to replace the tires at no cost to me. No more vibration, no more bouncing up or down.

They did finally replace the OEM tires with the same kind before I myself put the different tires on. They still had the cold vibration. They said if I put different tires on the vibration would be gone, now I have another vibration. I love the car, but the vibration thing makes me want to get rid of it already.

Re: Question about balance

Does the vibration persist after drving for awhile. During cold weather possibility that the tires (some tires do) stiffen up (flat spot) specially when its real cold out. Then they soften up and assume roundness as you drive.

It always has a vibration, worse when it's cold, worse on different roads, but there's always a slight vibration.

Brought it to the place I bought the tires and had them check the tire the dealership had a problem with. They found a "slight hop" to the tire. They got it to balance but said if the vibration persisted it would have to be replaced. I had to put 25 miles on it and have go back and have the lug nuts tightened and the vibration was still there so they have a tire on order for me. We'll see if that fixes it.
