lost my cool(ent)

Alright got home about 10:30 last night an smelled antifreeze smell from my engine. and a little steam from it. It was dark but I followed the steam as best as I could it seem to be comming from the water pump area. This morning in the light I found the hard plastic or metal radiator hose pushes back in to the back of the water punpand the hard pipe has a small hook on it but I don't see how it is supposed to stay in the water pump when pressure builds up on the system? It is a 1 liter engine. 1992. This pipe also has a coupple of smaller hoses running off it. I guess for heater hoses? How doses it stay connected to the pump am I missing parts or do I need new parts. Thanks for any help! S.

If Its like my 90 Metro, it will be a metal tube. There should be a metal tab welded on the side of the tube with a hole . thats where you bolt it to the engine block .It's a short bolt, the kind that uses a 10 mm socket. the tab may have broken off the tube or was not bolted in place.
