Correct Oil weight

Have 02 Rodeo V4. Would 10W40 oil cause it to run hot?

. For HOT climates, today's 10w-40's are ok (years ago they were horrible), but you'd be better off using a heavy-duty engine oil/truck 5w-40 or 15w-40. Cooler climates, stick with a 5w-30 or 10w-30.

Thanks for the info -02. Btw, there aren't many isuzu dealers in my area; closest about 35 mins. Who would you suggest as an alternative, Honda perhaps?
