Simplysic ^^^
Do not tell people things like that unless you know what you are talking about.
How would you like someone to tell you that and your trans was good?

Re: Over Drive Light

Could be several things.
First thing get it on a good eng/trans capable scanner and get codes.
Also post year and engine and what trans and mileage.
Post back code no. And we may be able to help.

Re: Over Drive Light

Hello MT-2500:

My father in law has a 1994 GT that the overdrive light comes on once the vehicle has been driven a little while (30 mins sometimes) and then it won't shift up to fourth. Sometimes it will go off by itself, but most of the time, the car won't shift up from third gear. We didn't pull any codes off the computer and it's been to the dealer and several transmission shops with no solution. I replaced the ECU from another car and the car ran great for about two weeks and then it went back to doing the same thing. Is it possible to try a different TCM or does he have to pull the trans out and see what modules inside the case are bad? Approx 130K on the current trans.

Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Ted, Chicago

If the OD light is on there should be a code in memory or present.
You may need a trans/abs/engine capable scanner to get code.
You need to start a new post on it. Two differnet problems in one post will give people two confusing answers.

Hi MT-2500: Sorry about that. Not too familiar with the Probes and thought it could be related. I will post a new thread and also check for any old codes.
