Do you eat meat?

Meet your meat

It fuckin pisses me off when I show people this video and they don't even fuckin care. Like sure keep eating meat I don't care I just want you to see this video. But when you laugh it shows how much of a loser you are to laugh at pain and suffering. You think torture to those who cannot speak for themselves is ok? You're fucked.
"Pain is pain, and the importance of preventing unnecessary pain and suffering does not diminish because the being that suffers is not a member of our species. When non-vegetarians say that "human problems come first" I cannot help wondering what exactly it is that they are doing for human beings that compels them to continue to support the wasteful, ruthless exploitation of farm animals."

Check this out and have a fucking heart.

Re: Do you eat meat?

nuthin like nicely cooked veal! lol

ey, listen, i know pple are all for animal rights and all, but there is a certain extent you can go to for a nation that is predominantly meat eaters. no, a world that is. just be glad those farm birds are in there, instead of the front of some chinese store in 5 points nyc on some hook. atleast those farm chickens die with friends, and away from the streets! nobody likes dying on the streets!

oh, and if you think THAT'S bad, wait till you see some footage on discovery. you know somebody's gotta tell those predators to start killing their prey in a less brutal manner. its not nice. all the biting and the blood, they should learn to use better methods, don't u think? like the lethal injection meybe?

Re: Do you eat meat?

oh, and how about this: don't you think humans should FIRST make an initiative to stop suffering of THEIR OWN KIND before animals? afterall, its even worse that we start spending money to give these entrees a nice death rather than attending to those billions in other less fortunate countries who are all sorts of fucked up, dont u think?

Re: Do you eat meat?

Most reasonable people want to prevent war, racial inequality, poverty, and unemployment; the problem is that we have been trying to prevent these things for years, and now we have to admit that, for the most part, we don't really know how to do it. By comparison, the reduction of the suffering of non-human animals at the hands of humans will be relatively easy, once human beings set themselves to do it.

Re: Do you eat meat?

lol im with vinny, im sure getting your throat ripped out by another animal sucks alot more than how they get killed, and on a side note, peoples bodies need meat. ok not necisarilly "need" but have you ever looked at a vegeterian vs a non-vegeterian? vegeterians dont look healthy, theyre all pale and scrawny and shit. just a thought

ahem... beauty is in the eye of the beholder. an besides, Heidi Klum (just one of my many favorite models, lol) eats like a pig! loooooves her meat.
and milton, not all vegetarians are like so. ever consider the regions of the world that are vegetarian? most of my family is vegetarian, cuz they're hindu. i'm actually the "scrawniest" by age and hieght weighing in at 140. so i think you should ditch the stereotypes.

ne way, not being ignorant at all, i watched the vid, but my take on this situation is just "hey, we've got more important shit to be worrying about right now".

Have you ever seen an actor or actress in real life? They are pretty skinny/sickly looking, the camera adds pounds. In person most of them look anorexic.

Fake boobs, collagen injections, plastic surgery...those beautiful people you admire so much aren't real.

It IS incredibly sick how we go about the process. I eat meat, and I enjoy meat, but it's never out of mind how that meat came to be on my plate. It's tough to look in the eyes of a cow as they're cutting its genitals off -- without sedating or even NUMBING them. When the family brings Rover to the vet, what do you think would happen to that vet if said family found out that the vent didn't even use anything on their dog, and instead just took some scissors and cut his genitals off? I can guarantee that vent wouldn't be in practice very long. So what makes a cow any less worthy of our sympathy? Just because it's one in a huge group, suddenly that lowers its importance?

On the other hand, meat is an important part of the diet, and it's a necessary component to survival. Let's face it -- if meat didn't have the properties of an important source of sustenance, your average Wolf, or Lion, or Bear, or Aardvark for that matter would be in big trouble. And there are MANY flaws in vegetarian logic as well
http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=grill

Maddox's caustic presentation method aside, he raises some excellent, research-backed points.

The fact is, there IS no easy way to go about obtaining food -- by their very natures, harvesting, hunting, and foraging ALL have one thing in common: they involve TAKING from the environment. If there was something higher up in the food chain then us, it would be expected that we would potentially be ripe for a live boiling, castration, branding, and throat slitting -- we could only hope that this higher race would at least be humane about it though. It's the cycle of life, from seed or embryo to harvest or slaughter. Extraction is unavoidable, however the methods employed CAN be controlled. A cow doesn't have to be castrated, branded, and bled while still alive -- unfortunately the meat industry finds those methods to (sadly) be the most expedient way. The killing of an animal is necessary for the process to complete, but we CAN do our damndest to make the most of the life we took, and insure that we try and do it in the most humane way possible. It doesn't take a genius to realize that there is a LOT of despicable shit that goes down in the meat "manufacturing" process that is just plain unneccesary, and should be unquestionably outlawed -- I can only hope that the future brings more humane management of the process, and more respect for the life sacrificed to put meat on our table.

Fresh meat = good meal. I don't care how the killing is done. I only care that the meat is carved and packed properly so it maintains its flavor.

The only animals that should be left alone are the ones people own as pets. Don't kill Timmy's dog for dinner, but if you really want canine, raise a dog for that purpose. Proper management will prevent animals from being hunted to extinction and the rest for dinner
