Do you eat chicken?

When you eat chicken you're supporting pain and torture.
Im sick of people who tell me "chickens are chickens, they were made so we could do whatever we want to them" SHUT THE FUCK UP. Chickens are animals and they have feelings and they actually have the same intelligence as a dog or cat. Its not fair to inflict pain and suffering on one just because we can. It fucking discusting.
"Most reasonable people want to prevent war, racial inequality, poverty, and unemployment;the problem is that we have been trying to prevent these things for years, and now we have to admit that, for the most part, we don't really know how to do it. By comparison, the reduction of the suffering of nonhuman animals at the hands of humans will be relatively easy, once human beings set themselves to do it.

Either I'm getting old or Pamela's getting old, but I no longer feel compelled to touch myself whenever I see her.

Re: Do you eat chicken?

Well Im sorry to hear that.
Why would you say something like that though just to bother me? Didn't your mother ever teach you how to treat a lady? Honestly.

I wasn't saying that with the intention of hurting you. I'm just stating my opinion. I like the taste of chicken and it's good for you if prepared right. If I had my way I would choose a more humane way of killing them but it isn't really my choice. If it makes you feel any better I haven't had KFC in a long while.

And for the record, just because you're a lady doesn't mean you should get special treatment.

Re: Do you eat chicken?

Ladies should get special treatment. You don't know what we go through. Maybe you do but you don't have to experience getting your period once every month from the age of 12 til around 55. Carrying a baby inside of you for 9 months. Giving birth to the size of a watermelon through your vagina which is like 5 cm but when dialated for birth is 10cm. You don't know.

Re: Do you eat chicken?

I ate KFC today for lunch...not trying to bother anyone, just a fact. It is a great source of protein, but I eat the skin too...so lots of greasy calories. I gotta go sweat it off tonight.

Yes I eat meat and chicken. I don't go picking on vegans/vegetarians for their dietary choices, don't go picking on mine.

Had chicken tonight. Fantastic! When I want it really fresh, I'll take the hatchet to the chickens head myself.

Hopefully I'll have a buck hanging tomarrow and so we can have some fresh venison early next week.

PETA went off the deep end long ago. They can go fornicate themselves.

Re: Do you eat chicken?

chickens have the same intelligence as a cat or dog?
would it make you feel better that i have no qualms about eating cat or dog?

babies are like watermelons?
crikey, the water melons i get around here are at least 12 inches diameter.
if you can squeeze one of them through your vagina, i'd stop eating chicken.

hmm, so women should get extra respect because they give birth?
so does that mean as long as you don't give birth, you don't get that extra respect?
is that extra respect proptional to the number of the number of children at any one time?
does each subsequent birth add a percentage of extra respect?
if i give every penny i have to my name to, let's just say the nspcc, do i still have to give a woman extra respect or does my generosity counter the childbirth thing?
how about if i've donated a kidney to a total stranger? how does that work on your scale of extra deserved respect?

are peta the group that dug up the body of a granny and refused to tell people the wearabouts of the remains?
or is that a different animal rights group?

This position is simply philosophically inconsistent.

It is the very act of raising the chicken to be eaten that gives that chicken a life, gives it an alleged "intellegence" and gives it life experiences, as much as a chicken can have.

It's not like KFC is interrupting the happy lives of chickens in the wild. If we did not eat chicken, the chickens simply would not exist. For myself, I would rather have a life; limited as it may be, rather than never to be born (hatched) and never to exist at all.

Now who are we to decide for them they should not exist at all?
Ah, yes, it's the arrogance of groups like PETA who think they know best.

There is no such thing as a free lunch (no pun intended). I have to work for a living to pay for the things I need to survive; and in turn, the chicken must do so as well, by becoming dinner.

As for the morality of eating animals; have you ever seen nature shows, where the carnivore hunts and kills they prey? We all hate to see that, but animals are part of the food chain. The deer is food for the wolves, and the wolves eventually die and become carrion for the scavengers and the insects. It has been this way on earth for more than a billion years, since animals evolved beyond the level of the trilobite.

Why should people be made to feel bad about a natural process?
Yes, again, that is the arrogance of PETA again, wanting to reverse a billion years of evolution..........

Most animals, incliding chickens cannot comprehend of the abstract notion of free will, individual determination and the rights of others. Therefore, why do they deserve those rights from us?

Finally as for your comment
"Ladies should get special treatment."
respectfully, I would say that millions of women who supported the Equal Rights Amendment would disagree with you.

PETA has gone off the deep end.

and seriously... even **I** dont think girls should get any kind of extra special treatment. treat others how you want to be treated.

and kudos to magicrat and drunken monkey, you both made some really good points.
i.e.:
"I have to work for a living to pay for the things I need to survive; and in turn, the chicken must do so as well, by becoming dinner."
"so women should get extra respect because they give birth? so does that mean as long as you don't give birth, you don't get that extra respect?"
