No parking lights

Have 95 windstar, the parking lights (running lights) do not work. Turn headlights on and that is all that comes on, no rear lights. Have checked fuses and replaced headlight switch. What am I missing?
thanks!

Re: No parking lights

Fuse #9 powers all the "parking" lights.....that includes the license plate lamps, front (yellow) parking lamps, and the rear (red) parking lamps.

The Hazard / turn signals use a different circuit.....although they use the same bulbs for front and rear as the parking lights.

Wire color to each bulb socket, BROWN for the Parking function.....Light Green for the Hazard/turn signal function, and Black for Ground.

Do the parking lights use a Maxi fuse? You know the larger ones under the hood?

I thought about this when I first read this post but didn't have a real good wiring diagram to check it out.

Re: No parking lights

I had a 95 sable that lost the parking lights, rear tail lights and the dashboard lights.....I found it to be bad (melted wiring) at the headlight switch connector. I don't know if your dash lights work or not....but this seems to be a widespread problem because the 1st 3 cars (taurus/sable) i went to in the wrecknig yard for the replacement harness had the same problem, or at least the start of it.

[The dashboard lights work, in fact all other lights work properly. I appreciate the responses above and plan on checking them out this evening.

Re: No parking lights

The fuse for the "parking" lights is a 10amp "mini" fuse....it is in the "Instrument Panel" fuse block....which is by the driver's left foot (for those of us in countries which drive on the righthand side of the road). I am not sure which side U drive on in Sweden....so I don't want to just say "driver's side" if you drive on the left hand side of the road.

I am refering to electrical diagrams that are at www.alldatadiy.com
