Hey, i have a 97 jimmy and when i drive down the road the steering just dosnt seem right.. there is alot of play in the wheel. sometimes you need to actually turn the wheel a little bit to just go straight if the road is on a bit of an angle. its not an alignment problem. just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what some options are to fix it. Thanks

I think mines more than an inch. My mom has a 2002 blazer and that has a little play. probably an inch, but mines alot worse.

2 main things contribute to steering slop in our trucks... The steering box, and the intermediate shaft. Replace your steering box with a zq8 steering box (quicker ratio) and replace your intermediate shaft with either a new steering shaft or a solid shaft replacement. What happenes is that the rag joint at the base of the intermediate shaft wears out. The rag joint is not a seperately serviceable item.
