Red face Um, something is hanging from the bottom of my car...eerrrrrr

I have a 1990 Lumina Euro 2 door. I bought it about 6 mos. back. Anyways, I was driving home, and something directly in the middle of the bottom of the car fell, cylindrical like, and started scraping the road like a loose muffler...but not the muffler.....
Any ideas on what this is I'm dealing with? Much appreciated if I receive any responses...

Not sure how big it is ,but if it's a small part sounds like maybe your fuel filter.Or if it is more toward the front under the passenger seats could be your catalitic converter. There the only two things that I can think of that match your problem. If I'm right the fuel filter is a quick fix but not so quick for the converter, hope this helps narrow down your problem.Let us know

Thank you for your response. I have found out it is the converter as well as some of the pipe. Well, it was a good ride while it lasted.

It doesn't matter what it is. It needs to be taken care of before it begins to throw sparks. That's not the way to want to find out that you have a fuel leak...trust me.
