Smile I got a gift from god

I got my motor today. I ordered my h22 a couple weeks ago and it showed up today. I still need to get some parts like timing belt, water pump, intake manifold, throttle body, dizzy, and a couple other things but it should be in by febuary or somewere around there. Im going to use the d series adapter plate from bisimoto instead of the h2b one. The way i see it, i will be saving money ( no need for mounts or linkage ) i am going to upgrade my axles to 400 horse axles just so i dont have to worry about them. I want at least 12's all motor.

Re: I got a gift from god

Sick man, I'd love to see how it turns out (some pics maybe a write-up? ). I considered doing this in a 5th gen with that bisimoto adapter plate.

Re: I got a gift from god

define "hard to drive"

if speaking of complete H and K(with their own transmissions), a k would probally be better since they already have off-the shelf-mounts for them(but still requires some grinding to get it to work); but an H with a adapter would definantly be cheaper. If the H breaks that transmission, there are plenty of d-series transmission that you can get for cheap.

Also, the K and H are pretty similar, except the K has been "modified" more out of the factory so to say and spins a different direction. The 6-spd isnt too good because the first gear is almost useless(wheel spin). Ive read alot of problems about the K(mainly oil issues), so H would be more reliable when building the motor on a smaller budget. There are plenty of guys that have K's with spun #1 crank or rod bearings, tensioner issue(its oil driven), and a guy that managed to blow the piston tops(these are road course guys)...

Re: I got a gift from god

I have never heard of a d series adapter plate for the H series. The only ones I know of are B series adapter plates.

There aren't any pics, or even much info on it; but it's definently real.

Re: I got a gift from god

You have to make a custom driver side mount. The adapter plate allows you to use your stock linkage, axles and mounts. You need to cut around the crank pully and you need to shave a bit off the back of the block to allow for axle access. Probly the reason you wernt impressed with the h in the rex is you used the heavy h tranny with bad gearing. The d series tranny is much lighter and it is cable compared to the h series. www.bisimoto.com sells the d series plate and www.quartersportsdrag.com sells the b series one. By the way bisimoto was talking the d series kit which is cheaper is a little better because the d series trannys have stubbier gears and ferrous shift forks in the 86-89 tegs and the 96-00 ex civics. Yea i am deffinatly going to take some pictures. So far i havent seen a sedan with an h so i might be the first.
