i have never herd of the V6 called this before but when i took my 88 gt to the A/C shop he asked me if it was a 2m6. i just looked at mih funny then he asked me if it was a 6 cyl. is this a real name for the v6's

Well, there were three options to choose from in '95-'98, the 2M6,SE,and GT. I think there was also a 2M4, which was a 4-cylinder.

they referred to the fieros as 2m4 and 2m6....i'm pretty sure it means, 2 seats, mid-engine, and 4 or 6 cylinder. So obviously no other car from the US could possibly have the same designation.
