sparkplug wire change, miss firing?? please help

we bought a car and basically tuned it up, all the works, oil, spark plugs and everything.. after i finished changing the spark plug wires, spark plugs, cap and rotor, the car started knocking like we dropped something inside but nothing was there. so we desided to take it to a mechanic and he changed the valve liftes, crank sensor, and all sorts of stuff.. but now its messing up again.. we just cant seem to figur out whats wrong with it. Today i went to auto zone and wanted to get the strobe to check the timing because the belt was changed to but someone mentioned that changing the gauge of the wire effects the computer and messes up the timing... ofcorce the check engine light was on and we kept reading it and it kept jumping from cylinder to cylinder and telling us that it was miss firing.. we installed a 7mm wire and the stock ones were 5mm. Does anyone know if this would cause the car to misfire?? the car drive but once its gets into higher rpm it starts to shake a little and sometimes it even cuts off..sometimes even the knocking sound comes back.. i just dont understand what the problem is.. btw its a V6 GT.. please help...

Lager wires shouldnt make a diferance seeing as how firing is controled by the motor/cap, not the ECU. Mabye the 7mm are bad. Try puting the factory ones back on and see if the knocking goes away.

BTW for someone whos been on here since 04, having only 6 post would make you a post n00b.
