Thermostat location 2002

HELP!!!
I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere without a repair manual. I need to locate my thermostat so I can replace it. Is it going to be easy to get to? Will I have to remove the water pump or altenator?
I need help so thank you in advance!

Re: Thermostat location 2002

Well, I'm not real familiar with the 2002, but if it's like my '99 it's like this:

Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine block. On mine there is a small metal cover with two bolts on it. This is the thermostat cover. Remove the bolts (prepare for some coolant to come out) and the thermostat is behind the cover sticking into the engine block.

Hope that helps. . .

And no need to remove the water pump or alternator. Maybe some other hoses could be in the way. Just make sure the spring side of the new stat is on the engine block side as opposed to the radiator side.
