I have a power steering leak that has worsened dramatically since I put brake fluid in the resevoir. I'm not sure if I should replace the resevoir or the power steering pump or both. I heard that I could have a leaky gasket but I'm not sure if that would be in the resevoir or not. I love my car...but I'm not rich enough to let other people fix it. Thanks

I just got rid of my 89 about 6 months ago and it had the 5.0. I recall the resevoir being attached to the pump... I had to replace mine due to it leaking, and I don't recall it being too much of a hassle. Brakefluid will attack all the seals and ruin the pump. here is a link you might find useful. http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker...+STEERING+PUMP Hope everything works out okay. Cheers |
